Edible Slime

Are you a Mad Scientist at heart? A Ghostbusters fan just looking to get slimed? Here’s your chance with this Edible Slime recipe. Be forewarned, it is still SLIME so it will be about like sucking down snot. BUT if you like that kind of thing, this is a fun recipe for you. Kids will love it! This recipe comes from SteveSpanglerScience.com.

Ingredients:
Metamucil
Water
Food Coloring or Jell-O Powder

Directions:
Mix 5 mL (1 tsp) of Metamucil with 240 mL (1 cup) of water in a microwavable bowl. The fiber acts as the cross-linker. Add a drop or two of food coloring or Jell-O powder to change the color and flavor. Heat the bowl in the microwave for 4 to 5 minutes or until the slime starts to bubble over the sides of the bowl. Let it cool for a few minutes, and then heat again until it bubbles. You may need to repeat the heating and cooling a few times until the mixture becomes rubbery. Have an adult remove the bowl from the microwave and pour the VERY HOT mixture onto a plate with a spoon. Let cool completely. Drip or let it hang into your mouth.
