Zombie Prom

Saturday, April 16th, marks the second annual Zombie Prom brought to you by the Spook Masters of Fear Fair Haunted Attraction in Seymour, Indiana.

The chilly, winter-like weather we’ve been having here in the Ville during the first week of April can mean only one thing. The dead have risen from their icy cold graves and are getting ready for Prom Night!

Tickets are on sale now (http://fearfair.ticketleap.com/kentuckiana-zombie-prom/) for the second annual Kentuckiana Zombie Prom which will take place next weekend, Saturday, April 16th, at On the Rox located at 214 S Broadway in Seymour, IN from 8 PM until 2 AM. The dead will be shambling in from as far away as Chicago for this year’s bigger and better Monster Mash which will completely take over The Rox next Saturday night.

The Kentuckiana Zombie Prom is the brainchild of Seymour brain eater and Fear Fair Haunted Attraction owner, Brett Hays.  “I had seen Zombie Proms in other markets such as the Chicago Zombie Prom that the Zombie Army has been producing for years,” says Hays, “as well as the Louisville Zombie Prom which was on New Year’s Eve at the time. We thought we could bring a ‘Fear Fair’ touch to it.”

“I also wanted to produce an event in the spring around actual Prom time, so we formed a partnership with The Rox as a venue and held our first annual Kentuckiana Zombie Prom last year.”

Hays expects ticket sales to hit the club capacity of 500, so he recommends buying tickets in advance online where there are no ticketing fees, and you will also get a nice discount. The cut off for pre-sales is Tuesday, April 12th. Out of town zombies who plan on staying overnight can also stay at the Fairfield Inn in Seymour for a discounted rate of $99 per night by booking your room by Tuesday, April 12, and using promo code “zombie prom.”

What can a wobbling walker expect at the Kentuckiana Zombie Prom?

“The band will be in costume in the front and we’ll have a DJ in the back spinning Zombie Prom relevant dance tunes,” says Hays. “We will also have our Last Ride Casket Simulator on hand for brave souls, a photo booth, a balloon drop at midnight with $500 in prizes for King and Queen, plus best male and female zombies, etc.”

Dinner is also included. “It will be mostly finger food,” admits Hays, “but I know the folks at The Rox are working up something pretty cool. Let’s just say the food will be in keeping with the theme. There will be some awesome Zombie Prom exclusive drink options to enhance your zombie walk (or dance).”

Professional zombie make-up artists will be on site to make you look hideous, but if you plan on doing your own make-up and costumes, there are some great prizes for contest winners.

“The King and Queen Prize Package is really awesome this year,” says Hays. “It includes a weekend stay at Berry Branch Cottages, a Wine Tasting for Two at Salt Creek Winery and Dinner for Two at Chili’s. That’s a package valued at over $500!”

The Kentuckiana Zombie Prom 2016 is a 21 years and over event, so the underage living dead will have to be satisfied with their own High School Prom, but whether your 30 or 300, you’re never too old for Fear Fair’s Zombie Prom. See you there!
