Pushing the haunting season forward like never before, The Haunted Hotel opens the first weekend of September!
Book your room for extreme thrills and chills early this year because The Haunted Hotel is open this weekend, Friday and Saturday night from 9 PM until 2 AM, at 3000 S. 4th Street.
With the closing of Industrial Nightmare in Jeffersonville in 2015, The Haunted Hotel is now the last remaining “extreme” haunt in town. By extreme, I mean touching is not only allowed, but it’s guaranteed. You may not only get touched, but grabbed, pushed, pulled, carried off, chained down and chainsaw-ed before you escape the enormous outdoor chainsaw maze at the climax.

“We completely rebuilt the outdoor maze this year,” says owner/operator Kevin Stich. “It’s all brand new. We also installed a whole new sound system and speakers, so everything will be louder and crisper than ever before.”
Stich gave me a quick tour last night of the reworked rooms and gags his infamous crew were busy putting the final touches on, but Stich isn’t a haunter that goes for gimmicks.
“I don’t ever really buy all that big, expensive animatronic stuff you see at Transworld,” admits Stich. “There’s nothing there that I could drop thousands of dollars on that is going to scare anybody like my actors can. You just can’t replace an actor for the kind of scares my customers are looking for.”
The Haunted Hotel is an all original haunt. You won’t find scenes from movies, video games or pop culture, and all the costumes are hand made on location. About 50% of the masks you’ll see the actors wearing are also made in house by Stich and his manager, Kristen Warf’s, Sinister FX mask and props company.
You know The Haunted Hotel. It’s the oldest, longest running haunted attraction in Louisville for a reason. Now you know it’s open. What are you waiting for? Halloween is here!
