Zombie Apocalypse Live to Kick Halloween off Early in the Ville this Season, Aug. 5th–7th, at the 7th Street Haunt!

Zombie Apocalypse Live

Experience the Zombie Apocalypse with realistic M4 assault weapons that recoil and simulate muzzle flash as you make your way through a zombie hoard inside The Experiment at The 7th Street Haunt.

This town just can’t wait until October to get its fright on. Or September. Or even late August! We want our Halloween and we want it NOW! Hang on, Fear Fanatics, because we’re about to kick the haunt season into gear.

Here are the early, can’t-miss monstrous events we know of:

Saturday, July 30th, 3:30PM – 5:30 PM, FANDOMFEST, The Kentucky Convention Center: Godz Among Men: A Fandomfest Panel hosted by Louisville Halloween’s The Phantom of the Ville. Featuring every suit-mation actor ever to play Godzilla in a Toho monster bash since 1954 and the actor who played Ultraman in the original 1966 TV series.

Saturday, August 6th, 11AM – 4PM, Fourth Street LIVE: The Louisville Halloween Job Fair: Here’s your chance to scare up a job in the Halloween and/or haunted attraction business! Meet with all the owners/operators of the best Halloween attractions in town. First 100 attendees get a FREE Louisville Halloween t-shirt, everyone gets a FREE goody bag and everyone gets registered to win FREE Alice Cooper tickets courtesy of the Louisville Palace Theater!

Saturday, August 27th at 8:29 PM: The Louisville Zombie Walk in the Highlands, the largest zombie walk in the world, sponsored by The Devil’s Attic and featuring a Costume Contest sponsored by Louisville Halloween!

Zombie Apocalypse Live

All of this and Zombie Apocalypse Live at the 7th Street Haunt at 2900 7th Street Rd., Friday through Sunday, August 5th–7th from 7PM–11:30PM. TICKETS GO ON SALE THIS FRIDAY, JULY 22nd, AT NOON on the Zombie Apocalypse website at http://zombieapocalypselive.com/louisville/. Tickets are $29.99 for the Recruit Mission which includes a military grade infrared training weapon, a single ammo SmartMag and entrance into the event, $39.99 for the Special Ops Mission with twice the Recruit ammo and admission to the extended Special Ops Mission area and $49.99 for the Elite Special Ops Mission with twice the regular Special Ops ammo.

Louisville and the 7th Street Haunt are in good company with five other big cities and haunts hosting the Zombie Apocalypse Live tour this summer including Netherworld in Atlanta, GA, Talladega Frights at Talladega Ranch in Bakersfield, CA, The Asylum Haunted House in Denver, CO, Nashville Nightmare in Nashville, TN and the 13th Floor in Chicago, IL.

I spoke with 7th Street Haunt’s owner/operator, Travis Boling, earlier this afternoon about this new, interactive event. “We’re supplying the actors, special make-up and location,” says Boling, “and Zombie Apocalypse is supplying the weapons and tech.”

“We first found out about their business at the Transworld Halloween and Attractions Show back in March,” admits Boling, “where we got to play with the guns and see them in action. You’ve got to feel the weight of these things! They’re basically the real thing.”

In fact, the laser training rifles being used were indeed constructed from the body of real M4 assault weapons and deliver 30% of the recoil of an actual M4, while the barrel illuminates to simulate muzzle flash every time the trigger is squeezed.

“It was my business partner and owner/operator of our sister attraction, The Experiment, Todd (Stephens), who really got excited about this idea,” admits Boling. Fanatical Halloween and haunt prop collector, Todd Stephens, joined the professional haunt family at the 7th Street Haunt last season when he opened the high tech haunted attraction, The Experiment, for Halloween 2015 right next door to the 7th Street Haunt. It is the twisted hallways and high tech effects of The Experiment that will make up the maze you’ll explore while under assault from the zombie hoard in this off season event.

“Todd has been here every day, almost 24/7 getting The Experiment ready for the zombie hoard,” says Boling. “He has new props and animatronics arriving daily, and he’s creating a series of new pathways, rooms and special effects just to pump up his attraction for this event.”

So get ready! Halloween is on the horizon with big events kicking off in just two weeks and it won’t be slowing down from this point forward until the morning of November 1st! Stay tuned to Louisville Halloween and be sure to follow us on Facebook for all the creepy news you need to know.
